Strategic Plan Launch

The Lusaka Avocado Multi Purpose Cooperative Society [LAMCS] is pleased to announce that on 21 st December 2021 it will be launching its 2022- 2026 strategic plan. The event will commence at 09:00 hours and will be held at the Southern Sun Hotel, Lusaka, Zambia.

The development of the 2022 – 2026 strategic plan by the Lusaka Avocado Multi Purpose Cooperative Society limited is an important milestone towards the development of the avocado industry in Zambia. The plan is aligned to the Zambia Economic Recovery Programme, 2020 -2023, which aims at enhancing crop production by increasing yields and diversifying away from maize to other crops such as tree crops.

Below are the three major objectives that LAMCS seeks to achieve through the plan:

1. To promote the commercial cultivation of avocado in lusaka province

2. To undertake value addition in the avocado industry (produce oil, soap, hair pomades, food infused with avocado etc)

3. To support all members (farmers and outgrowers) in their certification and maintenance of high standards in the production of premium quality avocados that meet export requirements
